Bellevue Station at Tara announced for sale: JLL
Brisbane, 12 March 2020 – ‘Bellevue Station’ formerly part of historic ‘Marmadua Station’ in the Western Darling Downs region of Queensland has been announced for sale by Public Auction (photos available on request).
“The offering represents a very good opportunity to purchase a genuine entry level agricultural landholding or is equally suited as a logical addition to an existing supply chain,” according to JLL’s Clayton Smith.
Mr Smith and his JLL colleague Tom McLellan announced the property for sale this week, with the auction set for Wednesday April 15 at 11am, at the Burke & Wills Hotel in Toowoomba.
He said he expected very strong interest from both interstate and local buyers.
“Bellevue Station is well situated within the Western Darling Downs region south east of Tara, some 90 kilometres west of Dalby and 180km west of Toowoomba. The property is accessed via an all-weather gravel road off the Moonie Highway, providing easy access to local feedlots, grain depots and services at Dalby. We expect strong interest due to suitability as an ideal entry level value proposition for the local and domestic livestock producer,” said Smith.
Mr McLellan said the property covered a total land area of 2,673.8ha split between 1,000.38ha of freehold and 1,673ha of state lease.
“Bellevue exhibits all the hallmarks of an entry level agricultural holding or an efficient low-cost addition to an existing livestock operation. It is currently utilized as a genuine backgrounding and fattening cattle operation complemented by improved pasture and fodder production,” he said.
“The property is loaded with grass and the Vendors will offer the new owners the flexibility of transfer on a ‘bare basis’ or ‘fully stocked’. This is via the first option to purchase 260 mixed sex yearling weaners currently de-pastured on the holding. They are expected to be 250kg after curfew and on offer at a below current market figure of $1000 per head. Further to this, there are 102 Stud Angus cows on agistment that can remain on or be removed for settlement.”
