Queensland Police officers remembered

South Australia Police last night paid their respects to the sacrifice made by two Queensland Police officers this week.

Between 7pm and midnight Police Headquarters was illuminated blue. The building will also be illuminated for the next two nights and then again to coincide with each member’s funeral.

In addition, the Adelaide Convention Centre, Entertainment Centre, Adelaide Oval, Adelaide Town Hall, Riverbank Footbridge, Parliament House, Festival Centre, Elder Park / Tarntanya Wama Rotunda, Adelaide Railway Station and the Victoria Square / Tarntanyangga Fountain will also be illuminated blue, as a mark of community respect, for the same period.

The deaths of Constable Rachel McCrow and Constable Matthew Arnold will be deeply felt, not only by their families and friends, but by those colleagues with whom they served with as they were united in service to their community. SAPOL also wish to acknowledge Mr Alan Dare, who tragically lost his life when he responded to assist.

South Australia Police honours their passion and dedication to helping others, as well as the myriad of risks those in uniform must confront each and every day.
