Minister for State Development Cameron Dick has today announced the appointment of Ms Toni Power as Queensland’s new Coordinator-General.
Ms Power has 25 years’ experience working in the public sector at state and Commonwealth levels, and has held numerous executive roles, most recently as Deputy Director-General in Queensland’s Department of State Development, Manufacturing, Infrastructure and Planning, and the Department of Housing and Public Works.
Mr Dick said Ms Power will become Queensland’s first female Coordinator-General, with the appointment following a national recruitment process.
“Since its creation in 1939, the Coordinator-General’s role has been critical to the delivery of numerous major infrastructure projects in Queensland,” he said.
“The Coordinator-General has a wide range of powers to independently assess and balance the economic development, environmental sustainability and social impacts of large-scale projects.
“Ms Power has experience across investment facilitation, industry partnerships and the promotion of regional growth.
“Her career experience and capabilities will be of great value to the state, and we welcome her to the role.”
