Quick Response Grant Awarded to Leeton Show Society

Leeton Shire Council

At its August meeting, Council awarded the Leeton Show Society funding of $1,499 from the Quick Response Grant program to purchase a new laptop computer.

The new computer will replace dated technology and is going to be utilised at upcoming pop-up stalls to assist people with entering their exhibits and purchasing online gate tickets, leading up to the Show. It will also be used during the event to help facilitate judging results.

Deputy Mayor Cr Michael Kidd, expressing his excitement for the upcoming Leeton Show, said, “The Leeton Show puts our region in the limelight. It goes beyond highlighting our exceptional local produce, craftsmanship, and animal husbandry skills; it embodies the community spirit and very essence of living in Leeton. We hope this contribution will help with the event coordination and are looking forward to another successful Show,” he said.

Council’s Community Grants Program includes a ‘Quick Response’ Grant Category which aims to support activities that arise unexpectedly, with limited notice, outside the window of the twice-yearly Community Grants Scheme.

Applications within this category are capped at a maximum of $2,000.
