RAAF Base Darwin exercises Freedom of Entry Parade

On Saturday 9 October 2021, RAAF Base Darwin will exercise its Freedom of Entry to the City of Darwin as part of the Royal Australian Air Force’s Centenary year. The granting of the Freedom of Entry to the City represents the highest symbolic civic honour conferred on a military unit.

Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony

The Lord Mayor will inspect the parade
10.00am
The parade will commence
Proceeding along Cavanagh Street, Knuckey Street, the Esplanade, and ending at the Darwin Cenotaph
10.05am
The formal challenge and right to pass will occur

10.10am
Her Honour the Honourable Vicki O’Halloran AO, Administrator of the Northern Territory will review the parade
The Darwin Cenotaph
The City of Darwin Council will host a Civic Reception afterwards at the Darwin Civic Centre to acknowledge the Centenary of Air Force.
