The decision to allow race meetings to go ahead in Tasmania with only essential personnel is a sensible response to limit transmission of COVID-19.
I am pleased that Tasracing and the Office of Racing Integrity was able to obtain the unanimous support of racing clubs across all three codes this afternoon in coming to this decision.
While this is an interruption to the industry, this decision strikes the right balance that will both protect participants while allowing the industry to continue operating.
