Rain won’t affect road work in Orange this week

Heavy rain on the weekend has had limited impact on planned roadworks in Orange this week.

Weather permitting, Council crews will be working on a number of projects.

  • In Clergate Road the installation of stormwater drainage pipes is continuing. Major Road crossings are complete and this week the road will be closed 7am to 5pm (Monday to Friday) and will re-open to traffic at night.
  • Forest Road was sealed last week. This week guide posts will be installed, and crews will be tidying table drains alongside the road.
  • Work continues at the new roundabout at the corner of Clinton and Dalton Streets. Council crews will be removing soft spots and adding new pavement gravel. Work will also begin to install new concrete kerbs
  • Excavation work is continuing on the new hardstand (plane parking area) at the Orange Regional Airport.
  • Weather permitting, contractors will begin the annual autumn leaf pickup campaign. Contractors will use a Council vacuum truck to collect the leaf-litter.
