Got one eye on jobs popping up in your industry? Or maybe you’re ready for a total career change? Council’s inaugural Camden Careers Expo is here to help!
Delivered in partnership with the Regional Industry Education Partnerships, the event will be held on Tuesday 5 April, 9.30am-5pm, at Julia Reserve Community Centre, Oran Park.
Coinciding with Youth Week, local schools will have centre stage at the event from 9.30am to 2.30pm. Senior students will be connected to career information, employment and service providers in and around the Camden area.
The general public is invited to come down from 2.30pm to hear from a range of exhibitors providing relevant, exciting and interactive information about upskilling and professional development opportunities, as well as tangible career pathways into a range of local and regional industries.
Attendees can look forward to connecting with more than 20 exhibitors on the day, including:
- Western Sydney International Airport;
- Australian Defence Force;
- TAFE NSW;
- WISE Employment;
- Women in Transport;
- The Y NSW;
- Apprenticeship Careers Australia; and
- CSIRO.
Mayor of Camden, Cr Therese Fedeli, said there will be seminars, demonstrations and presentations for attended to enjoy on the day.
“Whether you’re looking for information on courses, training opportunities, or even just want to speak to someone in an industry you might be interested in, this is the event for you,” Cr Fedeli said.
“Finding the right job or career path can be daunting. There’s so much to consider and so many opportunities out there. Attending the Camden Careers Expo will give school leavers and job seekers the opportunity to speak directly to local employers about what a career with them would look like and how they can get there.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity to learn and to make valuable connections in industries you might want to join now or in the future.
