Redcliffe launches new Mobile Police Beat

A state-of-the-art ‘police station on wheels’ has rolled into Redcliffe as part of the Queensland Police Service’s expansion of Mobile Police Beats (MPB).

On Friday, April 14, Minister for Police Mark Ryan joined Assistant Commissioner Brian Connors in the official launch of the second MPB for the Moreton District.

MPBs provide a high visibility policing presence in the community, as well as immediate access to vital policing services.

Equipped with a range of technology and equipment, officers are able to deliver policing services directly to the community.

“MPBs are a fully functional police station on wheels that we can deploy and relocate to areas where it may be needed.

They are a resourceful facility that enables more visibility and more active patrols,” said Assistant Commissioner Connors.

Moreton District’s first MPB launched in June 2022 and is being utilised as part of Operation Victor Unison, which focused on investigating and preventing youth crime within the community.

“Both Moreton District’s MPBs will continue to be deployed to hot spot locations across the district, to provide further flexible policing and to strengthen community safety outcomes.

I encourage members of the public to engage with MPBs where necessary, whether it be to report a crime or to seek advice and support from local police.”
