Australian Wetlands Consulting (AWC) is the successful tenderer for the Urban Stormwater Modelling Project. The project is a key initiative under the Reefwise Urban Program.
AWC will work with Drapper Environmental Consultants, Terrain NRM and Catchment Solutions. Together they will develop stormwater runoff models and assess erosion risks in priority areas.
The project will help councils and Reef catchment managers:
- better understand how urban stormwater affects local waterways
- identify opportunities to improve water quality.
The project forms part of Phase 1 of the Reefwise Urban Program and will help to:
- protect the Great Barrier Reef
- support planning and investment decisions to reduce stormwater pollution.
