Regional areas must be supported to manage COVID

Rural and regional areas across the state must have adequate access to the support they need as COVID case numbers rise.

Shadow Health Minister Anita Dow said places across Tasmania, including Circular Head, the West Coast, the East Coast, the North East and King and Flinders Island had been almost left off the COVID map.

“Just like the rest of Tasmania, regional areas need access to testing and other support measures,” Ms Dow said.

“I have heard from a number of residents who are very concerned about a COVID outbreak in their isolated community where there are limited health facilities.
