Garage Sale Trail is Australia’s festival of pre-loved stuff. Across two weekends in November, thousands of garage sales will pop up across the country. For store holders, it’s a chance to turn their stash into cash – and for shoppers, it’s an opportunity to buy unique pieces at retro prices.
As part of our commitment to reducing waste, we are bringing this festival to the City of Port Phillip this spring. The Garage Sale Trail is all about extending the life of our pre-loved gems while giving our community the chance to unearth trinkets and treasures.
Registering to host a garage sale is free, and hosts receive support to make their sale as successful as possible, including:
- free promotional resources
- free online workshops covering tips and tricks for secondhand selling (Trail Tutorials).
300,000 Australians joined forces in 2022 as part of Garage Sale Trail, saving over 3 million kilograms of would be waste from landfill. And this year, our City will be part of the action.
