Release of the Public Safety Mobile Broadband Review and the Government Response

The Australian Government has committed $10.1 million to establish a Taskforce to drive the delivery of a Public Safety Mobile Broadband (PSMB) capability, led by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA). This has been established in response to an independent Public Safety Mobile Broadband Review.

The Government has released the Public Safety Mobile Broadband Review and the Government Response.

Establishing a Taskforce is a critical step in advancing the national PSMB program.

A national PSMB capability will provide emergency services personnel with fast, safe and secure voice, video and data communications and instant access to critical information in emergencies. The PSMB will enable real time data analytics, situational awareness and cross-border communications-for example, between ground crews, aerial assets and incident control centres.
