Central Coast Council is again joining forces with the Little Blue Dinosaur Foundation to help promote its important road safety campaign to help keep young children safe.
Little Blue Dinosaur’s “Hold My Hand” campaign was launched in 2014 after the tragic death of Michelle’s four-year-old son Tom while the family was holidaying.
The ‘slow down, kids around’ campaign is a timely reminder about the importance of road safety.
The campaign uses bright signage to remind parents and drivers that children under the age of 12 have limited visual and cognitive abilities around roadways and they are often too small for drivers to easily see.
Council is helping to build child road safety awareness and has installed metal ‘Hold My Hand’ campaign signs outside 10 local child care facilities.
Holding an excited child’s hand, particularly when in an unfamiliar setting, and drivers slowing down when kids are around is a simple act that keeps them safe.
Central Coast Council is proud to support the great work of the Little Blue Dinosaur Foundation.
Residents are also reminded that double-demerits will be in place for the Easter break from Thursday 6 April until midnight Monday 10 April.
