The community has offered a collection of amazing, high-quality works that respond to the bushfires and subsequent journey to recovery and resilience for the ReNew exhibition.
The exhibition was officially opened by Deputy Mayor Wayne McAndrew at the Annexe at the Foundations on Friday 26th November. “The fires marked a major chapter in people’s lives. As well as the extreme devastation, the exhibition reflects upon and honours the remarkable displays of service, courage, hope and strength.” Deputy Mayor McAndrew stated.
“We hoped that this exhibition would bring the community together and appropriately recognise and mark the anniversaries of the worst days of the Black Summer fires in the LGA. Not only has the community been incredibly generous with their works but they have also been unbelievably open with their stories.” Councillor McAndrew continued.
The exhibition is open to the public every weekend in the Annexe at The Foundations, 30 Williwa Street, Portland on the following dates and times:
Saturday 4 December 10am – 8pm
Sunday 5 December 10am – 3pm
Saturday 11 – Sunday 12 December 10am – 3pm
Council would like to thank all those who contributed images and stories, as well as the many visitors who have attended and experienced this powerful exhibition.

Artworks are of all mediums including photographs, digital, sculptures and stories.
The exhibition is produced and presented by Lithgow City Council and The Foundations with thanks to the Federal Government, National Bushfire Recovery Agency and the NSW State Government through Resilience NSW as part of the Bushfire Community Recovery and Resilience Fund.
