Residents threatened by men in Sydenham

Inquiries are underway after residents were threatened at a home in Sydenham overnight.

Police were called to Unwins Bridge Road after two men forced their way into the home and confronted the occupants shortly after 9.30pm (Sunday 12 January 2020).

Police believe there was a scuffle between the men and a 17-year-old youth, who lives at the home, before the men ran from the scene.

The teen sustained a head injury during the confrontation and has been taken by paramedics to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a stable condition.

Officers from Inner West Police Area Command have established a crime scene and investigations are now underway.

They are being assisted by POLAIR, the Dog Unit and the Public Order and Riot Squad (PORS).
