Road closures for 2022 Blues on Broadbeach festival in Broadbeach, QLD

Gold Coast police would like to remind motorists of upcoming road closures due to the 2022 ‘Blues on Broadbeach’ music festival.

The event will be held over four days, from Thursday May 19 to Sunday May 22, with thousands of spectators expected to attend this year’s event.

Police have been working with event organisers and stakeholders to ensure the music festival is conducted safely and with minimum disruption to traffic.

Motorists are advised that travelling anywhere near the Broadbeach CBD during this event may results in delays due to the diversions that will be in place.

Major Events Group Senior Sergeant Des Hearn said police will be present during the four-day event; “Officers will be out to ensure everyone is having a safe and enjoyable time and there are only minimal disruptions to businesses and local residents”.

Police will also be monitoring and addressing any antisocial behaviour, particularly in regard to liquor offences.

Members of the public are reminded they can not to consume liquor in a public place and by doing so could face fines of $137.

Please expect delays and traffic congestion at the following Broadbeach road closures from 10:00pm on Thursday May 19 to 9:00am on Monday May 23:

  • Full road closure of Surf Parade between Victoria Avenue and Queensland Avenue
  • Full road closure of Victoria Avenue between Gold Coast Highway and Victoria Avenue
  • Local access only of Albert Avenue between Old Burleigh Road and Surf Parade
