Robbery and Serious Crime Squad detectives have charged three men and seized 11kg of drugs with a potential street value of $3 million, following an investigation into the alleged kidnapping of two people.
About 5.30pm on Sunday 19 April 2026, officers attached to Fairfield City Police Area Command were called to Ironside Street, St Johns Park, following reports of a fight.
Police were told two men were allegedly assaulted then kidnapped by five men – armed with a firearm and electronic stun devices – whom they’d arranged to meet.
Local police commenced inquiries before the investigation was taken over by State Crime Command’s Robbery and Serious Crime Squad under Strike Force Vexil.
Over the course of the investigation, detectives will allege the two men were there to supply 6kg of cocaine to the group, who allegedly kidnapped the men in attempt to steal the drugs.
The two men have since been charged and remain before the courts.
Following further extensive inquiries into the alleged kidnapping, from about 6.10am yesterday (Wednesday 29 July 2026) strike force detectives – with assistance from North West, South West Metropolitan Operations Support Group and Raptor Squad – executed search warrants in Parramatta, Casula and Arncliffe.
During the search in Parramatta, police seized 7.5kg of methylamphetamine, 3.5kg of cocaine and ammunition.
A 23-year-old man was arrested and taken to Parramatta Police Station where he was charged with three counts of supply prohibited drug greater large commercial quantity, two counts of robbery in company, take/detain person with intention to obtain advantage cause actual bodily harm, take/detain person in company with intention obtain advantage, participate criminal group contribute criminal activity and possess ammunition w/o holding licence/permit/authority.
He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court today (Thursday 30 July 2026).
In Casula, a 23-year-old man was arrested and taken to Liverpool Police Station, where he was charged with supply prohibited drug greater than large commercial quantity, two counts of robbery in company, take/detain person with intention to obtain advantage cause actual bodily harm, take/detain person in company with intention obtain advantage and participate criminal group contribute criminal activity.
He was refused bail and appeared at Liverpool Local Court yesterday (Wednesday 29 July 2026).
A 33-year-old Arncliffe man was arrested and taken to Kogarah Police Station, where he was charged with two counts of robbery in company, take/detain person with intention to obtain advantage cause actual bodily harm, take/detain person in company with intention obtain advantage, supply prohibited drug greater than large commercial quantity, knowingly direct activities of criminal group and fail to comply digital evidence access order direction.
He was refused bail and appeared at Sutherland Local Court yesterday (Wednesday 29 July 2026).
