Robbery and Serious Crime Squad detectives are appealing for public assistance after a man was seriously injured in Sydney’s southwest earlier this month.

Just before 2am on Saturday 6 June 2026, emergency services were called to Banksia Avenue, Greenacre, following reports four people – armed with bladed weapons – had forced entry into a home, assaulted a 23-year-old man, and demanded cash before leaving in a dark-coloured SUV.

On arrival, police located the 23-year-old with severe injuries to his left hand.

He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics and taken to hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.

Four other occupants of the home – a man and woman in their 40s and two males aged 16 and 19 – were not injured.

A crime scene was established by Bankstown Police Area Command before the investigation was handed to State Crime Command’s Robbery & Serious Crime Squad under Strike Force Camov.

As part of ongoing inquiries, strike force detectives have released CCTV of a group of men they are seeking to identify to assist with their inquiries.

The men are described as being in their early 20s, and were last seen wearing hooded jerseys, trackpants, and sneakers.

As investigations continue, anyone with information about the incident, or may have mobile phone or dashcam vision that may assist investigators is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is managed on a confidential basis. The public is reminded not to report information via NSW Police social media pages.
