Santa sleighing into Southern Grampians

Santa Claus is sleighing into the Southern Grampians this year where residents young and old will be able to greet the jolly man himself in front of the Hamilton Performing Arts Centre (HPAC) from today 3 December 2021.

Southern Grampians Shire Council Mayor Bruach Colliton said it’s great to finally bring some festivity and joy back to the region after what has once again been another tough year.

“We are delighted that Santa hasn’t forgotten about the Southern Grampians and will be visiting from tonight to meet with residents and visitors of all ages to importantly bring some festive cheer to the region,” said Cr Colliton.

“Last year, staff were able to bring us something really special through the Hamilton Christmas Tree sound and light show which has already been installed again this season.

“This year, the team has been able to bring the community something new with Santa’s Sleigh landing safely for a short time in front of the PAC. This project has been made in collaboration with the Library with construction by carpenter Roger Kennett, artwork by Johnny Day, and the electronic and sound installation completed by the PAC. Like the tree, the sleigh will also offer a unique sound and light show and has been creatively brought to life for residents to enjoy.

“Get down to Brown Street and check out both of these fantastically merry creations and enjoy the festive season with your family,” concluded Cr Colliton.

Santa and his sleigh will be available for residents to take their own photos in front of the HPAC on the below dates:

  • Friday 3 December 2021, 4:00pm – 6:00pm
  • Saturday 4 December 2021, 10:00am – 1:00pm

  • Friday 17 December 2021, 4:00pm – 6:00pm
