School support teacher charged over sexual touching of student in Sydney’s west

A support teacher has been charged following an investigation into the alleged sexual touching of a student at a high school in Sydney’s west.

In January this year, detectives from the Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad commenced an investigation following reports a 12-year-old girl had been sexually touched by man who was known to her.

Following extensive investigations, detectives arrested a 46-year-old man at a home in Bossley Park just before 8.30am today (Thursday 16 April 2020).

The man, who is a school support teacher, was taken to Fairfield Police Station and charged with aggravated sexually touch another person.

Police will allege in court that the man sexually touched the girl during a school class last year.

He was granted strict conditional bail to appear at Fairfield Local Court on Friday 5 June 2020.

The Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad is comprised of detectives who are specially trained to investigate matters against children and adults, including sexual assault, serious physical abuse, and extreme cases of neglect.
