The Schools Upgrade Fund is a $283.4 million Australian Government investment that helps schools to meet the costs of new infrastructure projects including:
- building or upgrading facilities, such as art facilities, music rooms, technical and applied studies facilities, sporting facilities
- upgrading playground and outdoor learning facilities
- replacing ageing demountable buildings with permanent structures or modern modular teaching spaces.
Forth Primary School in Tasmania has created a flexible learning space adjacent to their school hall in an existing undercover area. The space provides a communal seating area, a flexible learning space and an alternate play space.

St Mary’s Primary School in Victoria has installed a new artificial sports field for its 384 students. The space can now cater for this number of students and replaces a previously unsafe surface.

The Schools Upgrade Fund has delivered funding to much-needed projects at schools across Australia. Since the program began, $278 million has been invested for priority projects at 1,755 schools.
