Sculpture by Sea brings Cottesloe beachfront to life

  • Sculpture by the Sea opens today at Cottesloe Beach
  • 70 artists from 13 countries to exhibit at the public sculpture exhibition
  • Supported by the McGowan Government, through Tourism WA
  • Sculpture by the Sea, Cottesloe officially opens today and is set to attract thousands of people to witness the diverse artworks on display.

    The event is being supported by the McGowan Government through Tourism WA and Lotterywest.

    Held at Perth’s iconic Cottesloe Beach, the popular annual exhibition features 70 sculptures created by artists from 13 countries, including Japan, Singapore, USA, Mexico, France and India.

    Sculpture by the Sea, Cottesloe is one of the biggest annual sculpture exhibitions in the world.

    Tourism WA is proud to support this year’s Tourism Western Australia Invited Artist – Perth artist collective Heavy Duty with their iconic work ‘Beach Goals’.

    The large scale, interactive installation of AFL goals is expected to be one of this year’s most popular attractions.

    The 2022 exhibition in Cottesloe is open until March 21.

    “Sculpture by the Sea is one of WA’s favourite outdoor tourism events and provides the perfect platform to showcase our spectacular coastline to the world.

    “The exhibition showcases local, national and international artists, set in a stunning coastal location, which helps to raise the profile of WA as an attractive cultural destination.

    “I encourage everyone to head down and enjoy the once-a-year view and get behind local businesses like the cafés and restaurants on the doorstep of Cottesloe Beach.”
