Search for woman missing from property 200km north of Dubbo

A search is underway for a woman feared missing on a rural property 200km north of Dubbo.

Mary Walden, aged 74, was reported missing to officers from Orana Mid Western Police District, by a neighbour who had not seen her on the Quambone property for about a week.

Inquiries lead police to believe the woman was in Quambone on Monday 28 August 2023; however, she has not been seen since, and her car and dogs are still at her home.

A command post was established on the property on Sandy Camp Road about 7am today (Saturday 2 September 2023), with a search including local police, NSW Police’s PolAir7 crew, an RFS helicopter from Dubbo, and assisted by members of the local RFS, VRA and SES.

An area surrounding the farmhouse has been searched with no sign of the missing woman.

Ms Walden is described as being of Caucasian appearance 160cm 165cm tall, with stocky building, grey hair, and usually seen wearing jeans, boots, a long-sleeved shirt, and a green baseball cap with ‘OXLEY’ written on the front,

Police are appealing for anyone with information about Mrs Warren’s whereabouts, or who may have had interactions with her since 28 August, to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
