Search underway to locate missing child in the Riverina region

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a child missing in the state’s south.

Joe Mowbray, aged 8, was reportedly last seen at Moulamein Lake, about 100km north-west of Deniliquin, prior to 7pm last night (Saturday 11 November 2023).

When he was unable to be located and failed to return to his Tallow Street home, officers from Murray Police District were notified and commenced inquiries to locate him.

Joe lives with autism and police hold serious concerns for his welfare due to other medical conditions.

Local police are currently conducting a search at Moulamein Lake and the nearby township with volunteers expected to assist.

Joe is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 140cm tall, of medium build, with short brown hair and brown eyes.

He was last seen wearing green or blue shorts.

Police have received information that prior to his disappearance, the child was seen travelling in a family member’s vehicle, described as being a 2005 Green Ford Territory, with Victorian registration TQL-787.
