A second man has been charged following investigations into the alleged misconduct of a Corrective Services NSW officer.
In July 2019, detectives from the Corrective Services Investigation Unit established Strike Force Sciarra to investigate reports of corrupt activity by a male corrective services officer at a Silverwater facility.
As part of their investigations, detectives charged a 29-year-old man, who is a Corrective Services NSW officer, earlier this month. He remains before the courts.
Following further inquiries, detectives arrested a 41-year-old man at a home in Chester Hill about 7am today (Tuesday 31 March 2020).
He was taken to Bankstown Police Station and charged with use carriage service to make a threat to kill.
Police will allege in court that the man, who is known to the Corrective Services NSW officer, was provided unlawfully obtained information.
It will be further alleged the information was used to threaten another man.
He has been granted strict conditional bail and is due to appear at Campbelltown Local Court on Wednesday 17 June 2020.
Investigations are continuing.
