The Security Council is set to discuss the implementation of resolution 2231 (2015), which endorsed the 2015 nuclear agreement between Iran and major world Powers, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). A UN official is expected to present the Secretary-General’s latest report on the resolution’s implementation, covering developments since December 2025.
