The Council holds a briefing this morning on the situation in Haiti.
António Guterres, United Nations Secretary-General, will brief on the humanitarian and child protection situation in the country. Catherine Russell, Executive Director of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), and Jean Jean Roosevelt, UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, will also brief the 15-member Council.
The delegations of Haiti, Dominican Republic and Barbados will also participate in the meeting under Rule 37 of the Council’s rules of procedure.
