Seniors Week 2020

Devonport City Council will be working with a number of local organisations to celebrate Seniors Week within the Devonport area, with a jam-packed calendar of over 40 events for local seniors to attend during Seniors Week, 12 – 18 October.

The broad ranging program of events and activities has been designed specifically to be low cost and offer a wide range of activities that cater for diverse interests. Some events require advance booking and payment, whilst many others are free of charge and require no bookings.
The two main programs held this year will be ‘Treat to Eat’ and ‘Shout to Come Back Out’.
‘Treat to Eat’ has been running through the month of September and has encouraged the Devonport community to make donations which will be collected and distributed to seniors throughout the Devonport community who may be doing it tough. Parcels will be delivered to service providers within Devonport. Please contact Council on 6424 0511 if you, or someone you know, may benefit from a food package being delivered.
‘Shout to Come Back Out’ is a free promotional bag which will be available for seniors to collect from Council’s Customer Service Centre on Level 2 of the paranaple centre on Tuesday 6 October. The bag will contain information from local service providers and a token for a free hot drink at participating cafes within the Devonport area.
The full program of events can be downloaded from Council’s website or Facebook page.
