Serious traffic crash in Eight Mile Plains, QLD

The Forensic Crash Unit is appealing for witnesses after a man was critically injured during a traffic crash in Eight Mile Plains on Monday morning, April 3.

Investigations indicate at approximately 6.30am, a truck was travelling north on the Pacific Motorway, near the Gateway Motorway off-ramp, when it has struck the rear of a blue 2013 Mazda 2.

The Mazda has then hit a Honda Civic, which has struck a Lexus IS250, which then crashed into a Hino 500 series truck.

Five vehicles were damaged in total.

The driver of the Mazda 2, a 27-year-old Helensvale man, was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

The truck driver was also transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital with minor injuries.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances of the crash.
