Sex Crimes Squad detectives have charged two men with alleged child grooming offences under Strike Force Trawler.
Strike Force Trawler is an ongoing investigation by State Crime Command’s Sex Crimes Squad Child Exploitation Internet Unit (CEIU) into the sexual abuse and exploitation of children facilitated through the internet and related telecommunications devices.
About 9.50am on Monday 7 September 2026, strike force detectives arrested a 69-year-old man in Campbelltown, who allegedly travelled from Port Kembla to meet with a female child.
He was taken to Campbelltown Police Station where he was charged with incite to commit sexual intercourse with child under the age of 10 years, use carriage service-groom younger than 16 procure for sender, fail to comply with reporting obligations and contravene prohibition order.
The 69-year-old man was refused bail and appeared at Campbelltown Local Court yesterday, where he was further refused bail to appear at the same court Wednesday 11 November 2026.
About 8.30am yesterday (Tuesday 8 September 2026) strike force detectives arrested a 66-year-old man in Beaumont Hills.
He was taken to Castle Hill Police Station where he was charged with use carriage service-groom younger than 16 procure for sender and use carriage service make available child abuse.
The 66-year-old man was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court today (Wednesday 9 September 2026).
Strike Force Trawler inquiries are ongoing.
