Local sport and recreation is a fundamental part of the Mornington Peninsula lifestyle and that’s why the Shire is excited to launch a new website connecting the community to more activities, more often.

Mornington Peninsula Shire’s new sport and recreation website called ‘Our Active Peninsula’ is a central hub where the community can access important information and resources for all of their sporting and recreational needs.

The website also creates a new platform for a range of community groups and local businesses to display content and reach out to their audiences in ways they haven’t been able to before.

The development of the website is an ongoing process that can be modified based on community engagement to include online workshops and fitness videos.

In phase two of the website development, the Shire will expand the new portal to act as a one stop shop, linking the community to:

  • Aquatic and Recreation Facilities
  • Mount Martha Public Golf Course
  • Sports Reserves and Facilities
  • Cycling, Walking and Equestrian Trails
  • Sport, Recreation and Open Space Plans and Strategies
  • Sports Grants and Funding
  • Health and Wellbeing
  • Boating
  • Sports Clubs
  • Club Resources
  • Booking a Sports Reserve
  • Open Space Permits
  • Volunteering.

Mornington Peninsula Shire Mayor Councillor Sam Hearn said he’s looking forward to seeing how the community take up this new site and make it their own.

“The new sport and recreation website is a great platform for our community to tell us more about their interests just by engaging with the website,” said Councillor Hearn.

“By jumping on and really giving it a go, we’ll be able to review the data and gauge the needs of the community better and hopefully continue to expand and improve services to local sporting clubs, businesses and players.”
