City businesses are enjoying a strong start to the year, with $304 million spent in the City of Perth in March, the highest month of expenditure on record outside of the traditional December Christmas peak.
March 2023 saw a 40.8% increase in expenditure compared to March 2022, according to data from Spendmapp.
It was a busy month for the City, with the new E-Scooter Share Scheme, Freedom of Entry parade and AOG Energy exhibition among the drawcards bringing people in.
Overall footfall was 6.7% higher in March this year compared to last year, while it was even higher on weekend evenings, 13.5%.
