Fawkner Divisional Response Unit detectives are investigating a firearms incident in Greenvale last night.
It is understood multiple shots were fired at a man from a vehicle outside a residence on Galileo Place about 5.50pm.
The 28-year-old man was not physically injured, while the offender fled the scene.
Officers have been told the victim was exiting his vehicle at the time of the incident, which is being treated as targeted.
Investigators are keen to speak with anyone with vision of the incident.
The investigation remains ongoing.
