Six arrested and drugs seized in Ashburton

Officers from the Prahran Divisional Response Unit have charged six people with a number of alleged drug offences as part of Operation Outburst.

A warrant was executed on Johnson Street, Ashburton early yesterday morning where six people were arrested.

Police also seized a number of items including:

• about 5 litres of 1,4 butanediol

• 50gms of methylamphetamine

• approximately 40 MDMA tablets

• 50 LSD sheets

• 500ml of cannabis oil

• Ecstasy

• traffickable quantity of prescription medication

• steroids

• quantity of ketamine

• DMT bark (hallucinogenic)

• Taser

• about $14,000

• a stolen motorcycle

• multiple fake identities.

Police have charged:

• A 25-year-old woman from Ashburton with traffick a commercial quantity of 1,4 butanediol, traffick methylamphetamineand traffick ketamine. She has been remanded and will next appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.

• A 29-year-old Ashburton man with traffick a commercial quantity of 1,4 butanediol, possess methylamphetamine, possess proceeds of crime, theft of motor vehicle, possess prescription medications. He has been remanded and will next appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.

• A 37-year-old man from Ashburton with possess methylamphetamine. He has been bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrate’s Court on 4 November.

• A 33-year-old man with possess methylamphetamine, handle stolen goods and false document offences. He has been remanded to appear at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on 30 July.

• A 24-year-old woman from Toorak has been charged with possess methylamphetamine and 1,4 butanediol. She has been bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrate’s Court 4 November.

• A 29-year-old Narre Warren South woman has been interviewed and released pending summons.

Detective Senior Sergeant Tim Moreland said yesterday’s results were due to a lot of hard work and dedication by officers from Prahran’s Divisional Response Unit.

“We will continue to work around the clock to disrupt this this type of significant offending in Melbourne’s south east,” said D/S/Sgt Moreland.

“The community can be assured that we hear your concerns about drug crime and we take them very seriously.”
