Mooloolaba’s award winning Fish House Steak & Grill celebrated its first birthday in style on Friday 28 August, with a sold out cocktail celebration marking twelve months since the venue redefined dining on the iconic Mooloolaba Spit.
Guests filled the venue’s bar and outdoor spaces for a stand up cocktail reception, greeted with canapes, a glass of Moet & Chandon and the sounds of a grand piano playing live throughout the evening. Among the highlights were a handful of canape dishes pulled straight from the menu Fish House opened with in August 2025, giving guests a taste of their original favourites alongside the venue’s newest signature creations.
The celebration continued into a three course dinner, with guests treated to a menu curated to showcase the very best of Fish House’s first year, before the night wound down in the early evening glow of The Spit.
The evening capped off a standout first year for Fish House Steak & Grill, which has quickly become one of the Sunshine Coast’s most recognised dining destinations. In its debut year, the venue was named a finalist for Best New Restaurant on the Sunshine Coast at the Restaurant & Catering Awards, took home the 2026 AGFG Best Seafood Restaurant on the Sunshine Coast Readers’ Choice Award, and was awarded a coveted Chef’s Hat by the Australian Good Food Guide, recognising its culinary excellence and service quality.
The achievements have not gone unnoticed within the local community.
