COVID Cases in SA
There have been 4,453 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 27,472 active cases in South Australia.
Sadly, SA Health can confirm a woman in her 80s, a woman in her 90s, two men in their 80s, and two men in their 90s, who tested positive for COVID-19, have passed away.
There are 266 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including eight people in ICU. Of those hospitalised, 123 people have received three or more vaccine doses, 69 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and 74 have an unknown vaccination status.
Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

Variants
The latest genome sampling has found 34.8% of samples analysed were BA.2, 19.7% of samples analysed were BA.4 and 45.5% of samples analysed were BA.5 or related variant.

COVID testing
Yesterday, 9,591 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 4.6% decrease on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 2,448 PCR tests were positive, while 2,005 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
Vaccination update
Currently 95.9% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine and 93.9% havereceived their second dose. Boosters have been administered to 73.8% ofeligible South Australiansand 69.4% of South Australians aged 16+.
