COVID Cases in SA
There have been 3,863 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 28,120 active cases in South Australia.
Sadly, SA Health can confirm a man in his 30s and two men in their 80s, who tested positive for COVID-19, have passed away.
There are 287 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including nine people in ICU and one person ventilated. Of those hospitalised, 164 people have received three or more vaccine doses, 73 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and 50 have an unknown vaccination status.
Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

Variants
The latest genome sampling has found 34.8% of samples analysed were BA.2, 19.7% of samples analysed were BA.4 and 45.5% of samples analysed were BA.5 or related variant.

COVID testing
Yesterday, 9,561 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 0.3% decrease on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 2,062 PCR tests were positive, while 1,801 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
