COVID Cases in SA

There have been 3,358 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 28,284 active cases in South Australia.

Sadly, SA Health can confirm a woman in her 90s, who tested positive for COVID-19, has passed away.

There are 288 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 10 people in ICU. Of those hospitalised, 163 people have received three or more vaccine doses, 73 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and 52 have an unknown vaccination status.

Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

    Variants

    The latest genome sampling has found 34.8% of samples analysed were BA.2, 19.7% of samples analysed were BA.4 and 45.5% of samples analysed were BA.5 or related variant.

    COVID testing

    Yesterday, 7,992 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 16% decrease on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 1,633 PCR tests were positive, while 1,725 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
