COVID Cases in SA
There have been 3,777 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 35,525 active cases in South Australia.
Sadly, SA Health can confirm two men in their 50s, two men in their 70s, three men in their 80s, two men in their 90s, a woman in her 70s and a woman in her 80s, who tested positive for COVID-19, have passed away.
There are 290 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 29 people in ICU and six people requiring a ventilator. Of those hospitalised, 171 people are fully vaccinated, 46 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and 73 have an unknown vaccination status.
Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases have been readjusted.

Variants
Regular genome sampling is taken to monitor the levels of Omicron within South Australia. 81% of samples taken returned an Omicron result.

COVID testing
Yesterday, 15,002 people received a PCR test in South Australia, a 2.6% decrease on the previous 24 hours.
Vaccination update
Currently 93.7% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine, 90.0% have received their second dose and there were 29,728 booster shots given yesterday bringing the total booster shots to 414,805.
