COVID Cases in SA
There have been 4,374 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 28,592 active cases in South Australia.
Sadly, SA Health can confirm a woman in her 70s, three women in their 90s, a man in his 90s and two men over 100, who tested positive for COVID-19, have passed away.
There are 358 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 12 people in ICU. Of those hospitalised, 217 people have received three or more vaccine doses, 123 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and 18 have an unknown vaccination status.
Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

Variants
The latest genome sampling has found 20.7% of samples analysed were BA.2, 18% of samples analysedwere BA.4 and 56.7% of samples analysed were BA.5 or related variant.

COVID testing
Yesterday, 10,526 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 9.8% decrease on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 2,338 PCR tests were positive, while 2,036 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
Vaccination update
Currently 95.9% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine and 93.9% havereceived their second dose. Boosters have been administered to 74.1% ofeligible South Australiansand 69.7% of South Australians aged 16+.
