COVID Cases in SA

There have been 3,864 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 28,385 active cases in South Australia.

Sadly, SA Health can confirm a woman in her 80s and two men in their 90s, who tested positive for COVID-19, have passed away.

There are 354 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 12 people in ICU. Of those hospitalised, 214 people have received three or more vaccine doses, 117 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and 23 have an unknown vaccination status.

Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

    Variants

    The latest genome sampling has found 20.7% of samples analysed were BA.2, 18% of samples analysedwere BA.4 and 56.7% of samples analysed were BA.5 or related variant.

    COVID testing

    Yesterday, 9,951 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 5.5% decrease on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 1,944 PCR tests were positive, while 1,920 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
