COVID Cases in SA
There have been 3,340 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 28,201 active cases in South Australia.
Sadly, SA Health can confirm a woman in her 90s who tested positive for COVID-19 has passed away.
There are 374 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 12 people in ICU. Of those hospitalised, 222 people have received three or more vaccine doses, 130 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and 22 have an unknown vaccination status.
Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

Variants
The latest genome sampling has found 20.7% of samples analysed were BA.2, 18% of samples analysedwere BA.4 and 56.7% of samples analysed were BA.5 or related variant.

COVID testing
Yesterday, 9,245 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 7.1% decrease on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 1,686 PCR tests were positive, while 1,654 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
