South West Rocks Community Dune Care will receive a total of $155,756 from the NSW Environmental Trust’s Restoration and Rehabilitation program.
The group will carry out projects aimed to enhance the resilience of coastal dune systems and protect littoral rainforests at Smoky Beach and Trial Bay. The projects will also reduce infestations of bitou bish and glory lily, benefiting the biodiversity of the areas.
This funding is part of a package of more than $4.79 million approved for the 2021-22 round of the Environmental Trust’s Restoration and Rehabilitation grants.
The Trust’s Restoration and Rehabilitation program helps organisations protect, conserve, and restore landscapes and waterways of importance to local and regional communities.
This year’s grants were targeted at projects supporting the priorities of threatened species recovery and addressing climate change impacts on the natural environment.
