Benalla police detected and intercepted a speeding vehicle in Benalla on Sunday afternoon (17 February).
The silver Audi sedan was travelling North along the Hume Highway about 12.50pm.
Police allege the driver, a 19-year-old Maidstone man was travelling at 220km/h in a 110km/h zone.
His vehicle was impounded for 30 days at a cost of $1625.
He is expected to be charged on summons with reckless conduct, speed dangerous and exceeding 110 km/h.
