The Gascoyne Development Commission strengthened its presence in Exmouth with the opening of its new office by Regional Development Minister Alannah MacTiernan today.
Located at Exmouth’s Ningaloo Centre, the new office is co-located with the Minderoo Exmouth Research Laboratory, the Ningaloo Discovery Centre and Museum, and the local TAFE campus.
The new office provides a modern, central location for the business community to access the services of the Gascoyne Development Commission.
It also enables greater support to the tourism sector with a newly appointed Tourism Development Manager for Tourism WA set to operate from the new premises.
The Exmouth team will continue their on-ground support in the region’s economic and community development, with the added focus of the Ningaloo Eclipse in 2023.
The Exmouth community is planning for unprecedented numbers of domestic, interstate and international visitors.
The State Government – through a multi-agency working group including the Gascoyne Development Commission and Tourism WA – will assist in the delivery of a safe and secure event for the community and visitors.
As stated by Regional Development Minister Alannah MacTiernan:
“This new office provides a modern, central location for the Gascoyne Development Commission, Regional Development Officers, and a new Tourism Experience Development Manager, with the facilities required to maximise regional outcomes.
“It’s great to see the Ningaloo Centre at full capacity, bringing together key agencies that provide important support in the region’s economic and community development, with the added focus on the Ningaloo Total Solar Eclipse in 2023.”
