Locals and visitors can now enjoy Station Pier seven days a week, thanks to the Carroll Labor Government.
Minister for Ports and Freight Melissa Horne today announced Station Pier is now open to the public every day from 7:00am until 5:00pm.
The extended opening hours will give Victorians more opportunities to visit, fish and sightsee when there are no ship operations being conducted at the pier.
This comes after the pier’s limited reopening in 2025 following the completion of maintenance works after it closed in 2020.
Maintenance works included the refurbishment of the Pier’s Gatehouse, structural pylons, electrical systems, corrosion protection, and wharf deck.
Local community members, tourists and recreational fishers will be able to access the southern end of the pier via the Station Pier central access way.
There will also be an entry point for vehicles with accessible parking permits, with limited parking at the southern end of the pier.
Demand for Station Pier remains strong, with future cruise booking continuing to grow including an increasing number of ships choosing to home port in Melbourne.
There are currently 63 vessel visits scheduled to arrive at Station Pier for the upcoming 2026/27 cruise season.
Victoria’s local ports contribute more than $900 million a year to local and regional economies through critical industries, marine activities and tourism.
