Stats NZ Seeks Online Survey Testers

Stats NZ is calling for volunteers to test its online surveys.

Surveys play an important role in how Stats NZ gathers information to produce official data and statistics about life in New Zealand and our economy. Every year thousands of people across New Zealand take part in Stats NZ surveys.

“The information we gather from surveys is really important to New Zealand. It helps guide important decisions that support our economy and improve people’s lives like where services such as hospitals, schools, and roads are needed,” says Stats NZ Interim Chief Methodologist Gary Dunnet.

“In order to produce robust statistics, it’s important we ask questions in ways that are clear and easy to understand, and that the process of doing each survey is easy too.”

One of the ways Stats NZ is making the survey process easier is by moving more surveys online, starting with its business surveys.

Stats NZ to shift business surveys online explains more about this work.

“We know that for many people having an option to complete a survey online makes participation much easier and we’re working towards that for all our surveys,” says Gary.
