The Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr Cathy Wilkinson as CEO.

Her significant leadership experience and passionate commitment to pleasurable food education make her the perfect fit for delivering on our vision of supporting children and young people to form positive food habits for life.”

Cathy comes to the Foundation with years of leadership experience in sustainable development in Australia and Europe. She led major metropolitan planning, environment and water reforms for the Victorian government, was an urban resilience expert at the Stockholm Resilience Centre in Sweden, and most recently was a Professor of Practice at the Monash Sustainable Development Institute. On the home front, Cathy’s kitchen garden has taken over her front driveway and she has been involved in community urban farming initiatives from the Arctic to suburban Melbourne.

“I’ve always been passionate about connecting children to nature, to gardening, to harvesting, preparing and sharing food. Our health and wellbeing, and the health and wellbeing of the planet depends on this connection.

I’m thrilled to be joining Stephanie, our Patron, our Board and the fabulous team working towards our dream of every school and early childhood service in Australia delivering pleasurable food education.
