Stolen car rams shopping centre, South Australia

Police are investigating after a stolen car rammed a shopping centre early this morning at Prospect.

At 4.30am on Sunday 8 May, Western District patrols were called to a shopping centre on Main North Road after reports a car had rammed the building.

Patrols viewed CCTV which shows a grey Mazda sedan reversing and crashing through the glass doors of the centre. The car then reversed through the centre where it rammed the doors of a phone store.

Three people all wearing black hooded jumpers and black pants were seen getting out the vehicle and grabbing goods from inside the store and throwing them into the car.

The Mazda reversed back out of the centre however it got jammed between the store and bollards.

Three offenders exited the vehicle and ran south through the car park. A short time later an orange SUV can be seen on CCTV collecting the offenders. The car was last seen heading west on Grassmere Road towards Main North Road.

Checks revealed the Mazda sedan was stolen earlier in the night from a Prospect address.

Crime Scene Investigators will be attending the scene this morning.
